How soon after my baby is born should I book a photoshoot?
Babies become less sleepy and more alert after the first two weeks, so ideally the photoshoot should be within the first three weeks of their new life. I strongly recommend that you book me before your baby arrives. You can reschedule your session if baby arrives earlier or later than expected.
What about the parents?
I love capturing the ‘cuddle’ shots and the intimate moments between child and parent so of course we can incorporate these into your session. I am not the type to watch the clock and you will probably tire before I do!
What if I want a ‘studio look’ to my photos?
I do not regularly work from a studio but I can set up studio lights and a backdrop in the comfort of your home if you want the focus of the picture to be just on you, with no background.
What should I wear?
Something that says something about you! Bright colours work well, and if there are a group of you in the shot, contrasting colours look great. Get in touch and I will help you with some colour options. Do bring any props that mean something special to you and a change of clothes if you want to try different looks.
Do you have a CRB/DBS check?
As a self employed person, I am not permitted to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Check (previously known as a CRB check) under my business name. However, for the volunteer work that I do for Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital, I do hold an Enhanced Certificate. When photographing children that are not in my care a certificate is not required, so I am able to work with children as long as they are supervised by you.
What areas do you cover?
I am based in North Cambridgeshire, but have been called upon to travel across London, Norfolk, Suffolk, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and surrounding areas. Prices includes travel within 20 miles of Cambridge, and I’ll add a surcharge for locations outside this area – always clarified with you beforehand.
